Skip is well known in the fashion industry for his great salesmanship, great management skills, and creative skills. He offers leather clothing styles that are timeless and also cutting edge. West Coast Leather, LLC – San Francisco, California
As Chief Operating Officer and Managing Director, Skip oversees the day-to-day operations of the flagship store in the Marina District, which includes sales, customer relations, marketing strategy, profit and loss analysis, business operations, internet sales, social media blogs and postings, as well as managing a mailing list in excess of 100,000 clients. He was commissioned to make two jackets for former Playmate of the Year Jenny McCarthy and a custom jacket for Victoria Fuller, who was Playmate of the Month in January of 1996, to promote Generation Rescue, which Jenny McCarthy founded to help other parents of autistic children. For the charity Wounded Warrior, West Coast Leather also produced two jackets for the Shannon Twins, who are also Playboy Playmates. West Coast Leather outfits stars for music, television, major motion pictures, sports, high fashion magazines, and our clothing has appeared on many covers. We recently were awarded the “California Made, California Proud” designation, further signifying the high quality of the brand.
Board of Directors, 10/2022 to Present
Union Street Association – San Francisco, California
Skip was nominated and elected to a board position for the Union Street Association. Union Street has been one of San Francisco's top visitor destinations since the 1950’s. He is very active in the business community as a retailer to further the safety, cleanliness, neighborhood events, and community of Union Street and its surrounding Cow Hollow neighborhood, which is consistently named among the top 5 best neighborhoods in the nation for young adults to live in.
General Sales Manager, 09/1985 to 05/2003
North Beach Leather – San Francisco, CA
General Sales Manager in Chicago, Illinois. Number one in sales company-wide for ten consecutive years. Promoted to National General Manager and oversaw all eleven North Beach Leather locations. While he was General Manager, sales increased to $25 million annually for a 10-year period. He consistently hit his sales goals with high ROI profitability. As General Sales Manager, he worked with the high-profile celebrity clients and coordinated large corporate events.
General Manager, 05/1983 to 08/1985
3J Enterprises – Chicago, Illinois
General Manager and Beverage Director for a management company that owned Mike Ditka's Restaurant and Nightclub, Faces Nightclub and Jukebox Saturday Night nightclub in downtown Chicago. He was responsible for daily operations as well as staffing, bar and kitchen management. He also hosted and emceed corporate events. He increased sales and profits for the company during his tenure.
