  • Sonia Samsonoff & Spring Jackson

Models: Sonia Samsonoff & Spring Jackson

Skip Pas and I scheduled the shoot for a Thursday afternoon.  The goal was to capture some images of the models with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background...weather/fog permitting.  On my way into San Francisco the bridge was gorgeous, the sun was shining and we were ready  for a unusually warm SF summer day.  We met at the West Coast Leather store at Grant/Sutter street at 11am.  After fitting the models and hair/makeup we loaded up the car and headed out for the Presidio.  I wanted to capture some images of the models standing on the wharf with the bridge in the background.  The funny thing about San Francisco weather is that the fog has a mind of its own.  We started shooting at 2:45pm and the fog had already covered 1/2 the towers, by the time we left the Presidio at 3:30 you could barely make out the bridge through the typical SF summer fog.  Due to the situation for the first location I simply turned my models around and decided to capture the beautiful San Francisco cityscape with the Palace of Fine Arts dome, The TransAmerica Building and the Bank of America buildings standing majestically in the background.  For the 1st look on Spring, Skip and I decided on the black leather pants and jacket for the Sonia was going to wear the brown leather pants and brown jacket...for the record, leather is NOT easy to change into in the tight confines of a car.  If you're lucky enough to walk the Presidio you'll notice the unusual rock sculptures as you make your way to the base of the Golden Gate Bridge, I thought they added an interesting look to the photos.

The next location was The Palace of Fine Arts.  I wanted to capture some images of the Palace of Fine Arts in the background.  I always felt if captured in the right light the architecture had a a European look about it.  There is some massive renovations going on there and many of the trees and bushes have been removed in order to allow the construction vehicles room to pass but the place still is beautiful.  The 1st sequence is stunning with the sun shining through Springs blond hair as she nails the pose in black leather pants and an amazingly detailed black vest.  Sonia's 1st look in white leather is a show stopper as well in white leather lace up pants and an incredibly sexy white vest.  The fog wasn't relenting at all so Skip was in charge of outfitting the models while I traveled up and down the Palace waterfront trying to get unique backgrounds for your viewing pleasure.  Stay tuned for my next shoot...thinking of shooting some amazing new furs that have arrived from Europe.

  • Jocelyn Van Orden Shoot

    Photographer Oliver Anderson

    Model  Jocelyn Van Orden

    Location  Santa Rosa CA

Don Wehr, owner of, Don Wehr's Music City in San Francisco was kind enough to open his house so I could shoot Jocelyn and provide West Coast Leather some amazing images.  The previous day I'd walked into West Coast Leather's store at Grant/Stockton and spoke to Skip Pas the Fashion Director for West Coast Leather and told him I had an amazing model and a beautiful location.  He told me to pull anything I think I could use...so I went crazy and grabbed some jackets, sexy dresses and smoking hot vests.  I decided to take the shoot out to Don's amazing pool and I'm sure you'll agree I made a great decision.  The weather was cooperating so I had to shoot Jocelyn in a couple swim suits before we got to the leather but I'm pretty sure there won't be any complaints.  Skip's informed me that West Coast Leather is getting in tons of new designs so stay tuned for some more amazing models, locations and designs.
